Ok universe, I am putting it out there in a fortune-favours-the-brave/too-many-self-help-books-manifestation kind of way. I want to write a book. On flowers. It was after my few days in Venice last month when the idea really took root. And I hold the city, with it's insane beauty which makes even your wildest dreams feel possible, and the four ladies who I shared it with for those few days, entirely responsible.
Luisa Brimble, photography goddess and friend for life, and Skye McAlpine, Emiko Davies and Valeria Necchio who are all cooks, photographers, writers and all-round stylish women concurrently working on beautiful, individual Italian cookbooks, thank you for showing me what is possible.
Now to the work of turning dreams into reality.
And ps, I have a few Venice tips for you.
1. Go, you must go. Ignore people who say it smells.
2. Go in October ... it was lovely and not too busy.
3. Eat at 40 Ladroni for casual, delicious seafood.
