Cotton is almost magical in that it is a plant that grows cotton wool balls, literally. You could pluck off a ball and straight away use it to clean your face or your ears of whatever you normally do. It has always felt to me more like something from a Dr Seuss book than real life. A glorious tight-budded fruit that opens up into fluffy white clouds of cotton wool.
I have plans for a massive cotton installation in a woolshed for our upcoming Daily Plenty workshop, but for now I just wanted to say thank you to Ed, the love of my life, who grew this cotton, helped me pick a heap solely for aesthetic purposes. He then loaded it into the ute to take home and humoured me when I started talking about selling bunches of it as flowers. You are the best Ed.
And on that note, if anyone would like to buy a bunch let me know ... I am pretty sure I could post some of this magic anywhere in Australia.
